NOW HIRING: Summer Day Camp Teachers
Community Independent School (CIS) is seeking lead teachers for the 2008 Summer Day Camp program. The camp is offered to two age groups: 4-5 and 6-11 and runs for six weeks from June 16 to July 25. Each week will cover different themes: chorus and music, dramatic arts, gardening and food, forest adventures, science, and creative arts. We are seeking dynamic individuals to lead young children in hands-on-activities on the school's beautiful SIX-acre wooded campus which is located between Southern Village in Chapel Hill and Fearrington Village in Pittsboro.Ideal candidates are extraordinary, creative individuals with experience working with young children, patient and compassionate, and enjoy being outdoors. Excellent pay and free CPR/ First Aid training. Community Independent School (CIS) is seeking a dynamic and dedicated person for the position of lead teacher in the primary grades. CIS is based on a constructivist model, meaning that our teachers both lead and follow, offering developmentally appropriate curriculum to our students while also encouraging children to follow their own interests within a supportive classroom environment. The lead teacher is responsible for all subject areas and is supported by resource teachers in the areas of Spanish, art, music and science.

Community Independent School (CIS) is seeking a part time Spanish instructor to work with Kindergarten through 4th grade aged students. We are seeking a native speaker, or person with Spanish language fluency, to help students develop skills with the rhythm of the spoken language and its vocabulary, and to better understand the world’s Hispanic cultures.
